A comprehensive list of our current training programs
This one-day class will cover the latest requirements for residential ventilation. Along with classroom discussion the students will participate with hands-on equipment used to evaluate the ventilation in a home.
Blower Door Basics
This one-day class will introduce the students to the blower door. Hands-on participation along with class discussion will prepare the student for using and evaluating homes with this very valuable piece of equipment. Students will also be introduced to how the blower door is used for other tests, such as pressure pan and duct blaster. Classroom time and a real house will be used for training.
Building Science Principles
This one-day program will combine industry recognized best practices along with the “house as a system” approach. We will look at the way, one area of a house can have a potential effect on the other area.
Business & Leadership Training
Are you looking perhaps to get into the weatherization business? This program will lead you step by step. Our training program takes place over several days. The participants will spend time in a classroom, work-sites, and with vendors.
This is a mentored program leading to success in this fulfilling and profitable business.
Combustion Appliance Zone (CAZ)
This very important auditing skill will require two full days. This program combines in-depth classroom discussion with regards to combustion appliances. Building science basics, along with HVAC basics will be introduced. Each student will perform a complete CAZ test. The testing will be done in a real house. The participant will leave with the confidence and the competence to safely perform this crucial test.
Confined Space in Construction
This one day class is designed for Energy Auditors, Weatherization Technicians, Insulators and Home Inspectors.
Duct Blaster/Pressure Pan
This one-day training combines classroom and hands-on training. Students will leave the program with the knowledge of where and how to use these tools. We will train not only in the classroom, but in a real house
Introduction to Infrared
This is a one-day class. EEDD will combine classroom discussion along with hands-on participation. Training will be done in a classroom as well as a real house. The student will leave with an appreciation for this type of non-destructive testing.
OSHA 10 & 30 hour training for Construction and General Industry
These classes will fulfill the requirements for basic hazard recognition and avoidance training. Each student will receive an OSHA card. The ten-hour class takes one and a half days. The thirty-hour class requires a full week.
This is customized training for our utility partners. This one-day event, updates the students on recent changes to policies and procedures for this weatherization program.
Residential Energy Professional (REP)
This five-day class will provide the student the necessary information, should they decide to enter the work force, or to continue to pursue national certification as an “Energy Auditor”. Each session will be a combination of classroom and hands-on training in a real house.
Solar Photovoltaic Installer-Level 1
This five day class will prepare the student to receive a certification from ETA International. A combination of classroom, hands-on, and site work ensures a thorough education.
Zonal Pressure Diagnostics
This one-day class will de-mystify zonal pressures. Classroom and hands-on student participation will prepare the student for evaluating residential property. Time will be divided between classroom and a real house.
